Breathe with Bali

A circle of breath.
A circle of healing.
A way to give back.

« What can I do to help? »

That was the question that dropped into my chest like a wave the morning after. Let me tell you what happened.

It started with a breath session in a spa...

Wow, it was hot in Bali that day.

On October 22nd, 2024, I was invited to guide a breathwork session at Mellow Spa here on the island, 17 beautiful local staff members gathered in a circle with me. I asked them one simple question to begin:

« How do you right feel now? »

And what I heard hit me in the heart.

« Stress»

« Overwhelm »

« No family support »

« Financial struggle »

  This wasn’t just tension…
this was survival.

So we breathed.

We moved through simple breath patterns, ones designed to bring calm, clarity, and release.

Just a few minutes later, I asked them again:

« How do you feel now? »

And this time I heard:

« Lighter »

« Clearer »

« My body feels at peace. »

 Then I asked something different.

« Can we go around and share a hero of the day or week? Someone you're grateful for? »

 Five women broke down crying.

One name kept coming: Asti.

Asti wasn’t just a teammate. She was their anchor.

She had become like a mother to the others, many of whom had no family support at all. And then Asti spoke.

She shared that she, too, had no support. She was a single mother. Her daughter lived back in the village with Asti’s mum, and she worked every day to send money back… hoping to one day bring her daughter to live with her.

There were tears. Hugs. Silence.

But also… something else: a presence.

It was like the breath
had opened something sacred.

A space where pain and love could be held, side by side.

After the session, Asti walked up to me.

She looked into my eyes and said:

« Will you guide me? »

All I could say was:

« God is guiding everyone. »

The vision that came through

The next morning I was riding my bike to a friends place. Hot sun on my face. Helmet a little too loose. Bali doing her thing.

And then it hit me…this wave. Flashbacks of the session.
The tears. The hugs. The smiles. Asti’s eyes.

And this question landed deep:

« What else can I do to help? »

That’s when the vision came through:

Create a space for locals to breathe together, regularly.

Keep it free.

Find a translator
because my Bahasa is…let’s just say, a work in progress

Use donated yoga spaces.

Let the community guide the rhythm.

Keep it sacred, simple, and true.

And the name?

Breathe with Bali

What Breathe with Bali is?

Breathe with Bali is a non-profit initiative for local Indonesian communities to come together in circle: to breathe, connect, and be seen.

It’s not about me. It’s not about hype.
It’s about healing… the kind that ripples outward.

Every few weeks, we’ll run free breathwork and connection circles across Bali: led by love, supported by breath, and held by the intention to give back to the island that has given me so much.

It's about healing... the kind that ripples outward.

It's about healing... the kind that ripples outward.

How you can support

Right now, the movement is just beginning and that’s the beauty of it.

If you feel called to support, here’s what we’re looking for:

A local Bahasa translator to help hold space

Yoga studios or safe spaces we can borrow for circles

Word of mouth - share this page, tell a friend, post a story

Future friends who want to help this grow
volunteers, media, vibes

I’m not asking for donations.

I’m asking for energy. For presence. For people who feel this in their gut and say: “Yeah… I want to be part of that.”

Why I'm doing this?

Because this island welcomed me when I needed to slow down. Because breathwork changed my life.

Because I’ve been held and now it’s my turn to hold others.

“This is my way of giving back to the island that gave me so much.”

Breathe with Bali is the prayer that came through that morning. It’s a circle that keeps opening.

You’re invited.

With love,

Liam
