Your BOLT score
0-10

A score in this range tells us something important about where your breathing is right now.

It means your body has been running, day and night, on a breathing pattern that keeps your nervous system on permanent alert. And you already know what that feels like — even if no one has ever named it for you.

The inhaler that lives in every bag, every pocket, every glovebox. The second thought before stairs, before a run, before laughing too hard. The nights you wake and consciously think about the next breath. The way you've quietly built an entire life around a margin of air that never feels like enough.

You've been told this is just how it is. It isn't.
The thing no one tells you
Your lungs aren't broken.
Your breathing pattern is dysregulated
and a 0-10 means significantly so.

That sounds like the bad news. It's the opposite. A structure you can't change is a life sentence. A pattern you can change is a starting point. Everything you've tried until now has managed the symptom. This works on the thing underneath it.

Liam, co-founder of Breathe Free Movement
Why I built this

I had asthma for twenty-five years.

For most of that time, fear and anxiety were just background noise as constant companions. Every breath felt like something I had to manage. Medication helped, but it was a bandaid: relief that wore off and never touched the root cause.

Then I learned to breathe differently. Properly. Using methods backed by real science. Within four weeks, a weight I'd carried for two and a half decades lifted. Completely gone. For the first time in my life I felt control over my own body.

My BOLT score went from 7 to 21. That's not the part I'm proudest of. The part I'm proudest of is that I stopped planning my life around the next asthma attack.

This exists because I lived it, not because I studied it.

LiamFounder - Breathe Free Movement

This is the part where it stops being something you manage, and starts being something you change.

Inside the Blueprint

The 60-Day Asthma Control Blueprint

A simple, structured pathway designed to rebuild safety, control, and confidence in your breathing.

Phase 1

"The 7-Day Shift"

What happens for most people within the first 7 days:

  • More control during workouts
  • Increase cognitive ability and focus
  • Restore nasal breathing
  • Lower resting heart rate
  • Reduce chest and shoulder tension

Before we chase performance… we build safety. And when safety returns, control follows.

Phase 2

Increase Oxygen Efficiency

This is the phase that sets the foundation for future performance.

  • Increase VOâ‚‚ max ability
  • Reduce breathlessness while training
  • Increase COâ‚‚ tolerance safely
  • Stimulate nitric oxide production
  • Help airways relax instead of constrict

This is where you start feeling a difference in your body.

Phase 3

Retrain Your System "The Turning Point"

This is where you feel fully in control again.

  • Enhanced stress resilience
  • Self-confidence to compete
  • Pushing lung capacity limits
  • Regulate breathing during exercise
  • Replace reaction with awareness and control

Confidence is built.

Phase 4

Your New Reality

This is where all the practice pays off.

  • Build lasting habits
  • Higher deep and REM sleep
  • Unshakable nervous system
  • Increased heart rate variability
  • Tools for immediate action

Experience new levels in your ability and performance.

Sixty days from now
You confidently finish a run without stopping to find air.
You sleep deeply, all the way through, and wake up without that first tight breath.
You used to slip away to use your inhaler where no one could see. Now there's nothing to hide.
In the afternoon, you're the one the kids can't keep up with.
The two-week stretch that goes by before you realise you haven't reached for relief once.
The proof

The science is real. The results are personal.

2,880
participants across 22 randomised trials. The 2020 Cochrane review found breathing exercises may improve quality of life and breathing symptoms in adults with asthma.
4 of 5
of my first five founding clients cut their reliever use within thirty days. Two stopped entirely.
≈85%
reduction in reliever-inhaler use over six months among adults practising the Buteyko method (McHugh et al., randomised trial, 2003).

The risk is mine

Follow the protocol for sixty days. If your BOLT score hasn't improved and you don't feel a real difference in your breathing, I'll keep working with you until it does — or refund you in full.

Honest answers

Before you decide.

What if it doesn't work for me specifically?
It's the real question, so here's the real answer: the method works on the breathing pattern, and everyone has one to correct. That's why I adjust your protocol weekly instead of handing you a fixed plan — and why the guarantee exists. If you do the daily practice and don't see your BOLT move, I keep working with you or you don't pay. I'd rather carry that risk than sell you certainty I can't promise.
Do I have to stop my medication?
No — and please don't. This works alongside your medical care, not instead of it. Many people find they reach for the reliever far less over time, but any change to prescribed medication is a decision for you and your doctor, never something you do on your own or because of a programme.
Is this safe if my asthma is severe?
Breathwork is gentle by design, and a 0–10 is exactly who this is built for. That said, if your asthma is severe or unstable, talk to your GP before starting and keep them in the loop. This complements medical treatment; it never replaces it.
How much time does it actually take each day?
5–15 minutes. That's it.
What if I miss a day or a session?
Breathe. Life happens. There's no guilt here. You'll have access to everything and can move at your own pace. Progress over perfection.
How soon will I notice something?
Most people feel calmer, easier breathing within the first two weeks. The change most people are really after — reaching for the reliever less, then barely at all — usually lands between weeks four and eight.
Is this a replacement for seeing my doctor?
No. Keep your doctor, keep your check-ups, keep your action plan. Think of this as working on the cause your medical care manages the symptoms of — the two belong together.

A 0–10 today is more fixable than a 0–10 a year from now.

The longer a breathing pattern runs unchallenged, the more deeply your body wires it in. Sixty days of the right practice changes that.
